Duchess of Girona : ウィキペディア英語版
Princess of Girona
:''See Also: Prince of Girona
This is a list of Princesses and Duchesses of Girona (Spain), since 1388, both by marriage and birth. The only Princess of Girona by her own right was Joanna the Mad because previously Aragonese laws of succession, introduced by the House of Barcelona, barred women from succeeding and only allowing it to pass through the female line after the death of all male dynasts. Heiress Presumptives are not considered Princesses or Duchesses of Girona, as for example John I of Aragon was unsuccessful with his proposal to the Aragonese Cortes that his daughter, Infanta Constance (1340-1363), should have been heir to the throne, in the absence of a male heir.
